Garden Progress May 1

I love seeing progress in our garden! Our peas are shooting up, and we're expecting to see blossoms soon. We put the bush beans in recently, and they're growing speedily as well. Our strawberries have exploded this year, we can't wait for them to ripen! We also put in a couple dozen new ones that are still puny, of course. The weekend was extraordinarily busy with yard and garden work and errands. We now have tomatoes in, a few herbs, weeded flower beds, and a backyard that does not resemble a jungle ( : We also had our first garden fresh salad on Saturday with some overwintered lettuce, spinach and dandelion greens. Fun! We were going to keep the garden really simple this year, but somehow January rolls around and I can't resist the thought of all that yummy harvest. Hopefully this week we can get the rest of the squash and cucumber seeds in the ground, then the planting will be done.
