Weekend Pics and thoughts

What a great weekend! John was sweet enough to arrange a date on Friday, our first real date since Sophia's birth. We went to a steakhouse with a fantastic view of a Missouri "holler" with autumn foliage and a river. Their steak was even better than their view, which is saying something. For you MO friends, we both recommend The Point. Afterwards we drove out to Hallmark. It felt like we were still young and carefree, singing along to old songs on the radio and just goofing together. At Hallmark we found two new ornaments for the tree, one for Sophia and one Family one. The one to commemorate the new daughter in our family is a Willow Tree mother and daughter one, and expresses the joy we have in this new family dynamic. For the family ornament we fell in love with a Peanuts one depicting the stage scene where Linus shares the true meaning of Christmas. You press a button and the stage light and recording play. Too fun! It was just a lovely night, although we had to return to reality and put kids in bed.

John had to work Saturday, but not too long. We were still able to have a pleasant day. I took care of some cleaning and shopping, and John took the boys "exploring" in the woods, one of thier favorite things to do. We had homemade pizza for supper and watched the Fifth Element. Fun.

Today has been nice, but Teddy has started running a fever---uh oh. Here's to a good week!
