We've Arrived!

We have arrived, in so many ways (according to John) ( : We are finally settling into our new home, after a tumultuous few months. John is loving his new job, we're a little closer to being DONE unpacking every day, our ward is great, and we discover new things about our community every day. John and I love this area, it is so close to DC, but far enough to be rural and cozy. We love being close to all of the things we enjoyed during our newlywed years in Arlington, VA. But, enough about how pleased we are with the move, let's talk about the house- which we finally made it into about 10 days ago!

These pictures were taken as you walk into our entry, and then looking back as you reach the wall. Next, as you turn to your left and walk a few steps you see the parlor, and John standing next to the new chaise and sofa ( I love IKEA!).

Then you turn around and see the dining area. It's a work in progress, and I can't wait to put hardwood floors in this room (with tax return money), but I like it. On the left is the buffet we need to finish putting together. Again- IKEA rocks.

From the dining room, if you turn to your right, this is what you see- our hearth room. This is a nice cozy room, and we look forward to nice evenings with books by the stove. We hope to have an amish carpenter build a dining room table and bookcases to go again the back wall of this room within the next year. Exciting! Meanwhile, our old Target shelves are still serving us well.

We'll cover the family room, with the tv, toys and PC later- still some unpacking to do there!

At the entry, if you turn down the hall to your right (or left walking in), you go down a little ways to the office (which is full of boxes at the moment, thus no pictures), and then there is the main bath. It's not too bad.

Next is the girls room. It is cute- hideous green shag carpet and all. We are looking forward to painting, getting up the rest of the decor, and probably putting hardwood in here too.

Then is the boys room. I have grand ideas for the decor, but am still looking for a lot of things to fit the castle theme. So right now it is pretty simple. They have a nice view of the garden patch from their window.

That concludes the tour of the interior- the master bedroom isn't quite ready, and the kitchen isn't perfect enough for me to take a pic- give me one more week.I hope you enjoyed the visit to our residence, and we gladly invite all of our loved ones, family and friends, to come by and visit anytime!
