Memorial Day

We hit a different beach on Memorial Day. John and I were exhausted, but managed not to snip and snap at each other too much ( : We grabbed groceries then went on a picnic at an old courthouse a short drive from here. There just happened to be some archeologists around, and a nice gentleman gave us an unofficial tour of the courthouse and museum. ( : Then we drove on to a state park on the Potomac to enjoy a beach. It was frankly a little bit icky (it's the Potomac), but the kids had such a great time! They were all giddy, Lori included. Lori kept on running down to the water and giggling, and the boys enjoyed seeing how deep they could go. We found 3 or 4 fossilized sharks teeth and headed back to the car dirty and tired, but happy. It was a pleasant segue from a lovely vacation to a busy week.
