Angels or Demons?

My children, like many children, like to keep Mom and Dad guessing. The question they keep us going back and forth on is: Are they angelic or hellions?

Of course, I love my kids more than anything and thoroughly enjoy most of the time we spend together, but there are moments.

Lately the boys, Christopher especially, like to break into song at any location. Most often the song is a primary one (the only songs they really know are primary songs and nursery rhymes) and he always sounds so sweet singing "Tell me the stories of Jesus" or "Book of Mormon stories". On the angelic side, the children can also be especially thoughtful, picking flowers off bushes for Mommy or Daddy, offering a favorite piece of candy, etc.

And then there are moments like tonight. We had a lovely day, and a delicious dinner with the Batchelor's and Petersons (and their husbands, John was so happy!). The boys were a little tired, Sundays can be long, and they started getting a little ornery before bed. So, they are bathed and put to bed and then we hear a Crash! Those boys were jumping on the bed and knocked the piggy bank to the ground! Stinkers! And then we hear them being obnoxious a little while later. John and I go check on them and see torn paper all over the floor. Wait a minute, that's not paper, that is . . . .MONEY! They took a dollar bill (thank goodness only a dollar) and ripped it into about ten pieces! Neither child would claim responsibility, I think they could tell we were frustrated ( : They were told quite firmly to go to sleep, and now silence finally reigns in the Kapeleris household.

So, Angels or Demons? Your call. I think I am going to have to say neither, just little kids doing what kids do best: Teaching their parents.
