Lazy Sunday Afternoons

There is not much more happiness to be found in this world than the quiet contentment of a lazy Sunday afternoon. Here are some of our doings on a fairly typical Sabbath. Teddy takes a nap- this makes a more pleasant afternoon for parents and Teddy alike. On a really GREAT day, all the kiddos fall asleep and mom and dad can grab a nap!
Some storytime is incorporated into any great day around here. The boys love to snuggle up to Dad to hear some stories.
Even Sophia likes to get in on the story action sometimes. However, her attention span is pretty limited ( :
Some casual playtime is always nice, especially when Mom and Dad are just watching and not frantically trying to complete errands or chores like it seems we spend the week doing.

Of course, Sunday afternoons also include good food (we are making caramel popcorn ) chats with family on the cell phone, and oftentimes a walk and a look around the garden.

We actually have dozens of green tomatoes growing right now. Yeah! And I just spotted our first green sugar snap peas. Cucumbers, squash, cantaloupe, and potatoes are all beginning to bloom as well. I love it!

A pleasant Sunday afternoon can do a lot to diminish some of the burdens of the week.
